Frequently asked questions

Are these tax calculators FBR-compliant?
Yes. All calculations are based on the Finance Act 2024-25 income tax slabs, effective for FY 2025-26 (July 2025–June 2026). The slabs are sourced directly from official FBR notifications.
Are these tools free to use?
Completely free — no account or sign-up required. WeCertify offers these tools as a public service to help Pakistanis understand their tax obligations.
How accurate are the results?
Our engine implements the exact Finance Act 2024-25 slab structure and rebate provisions. Results are highly accurate for standard income types. For complex cases (multiple income sources, overseas income, business deductions), consult a CA or use WeCertify's guided filing service.
What is the difference between a filer and non-filer in Pakistan?
A filer appears on FBR's Active Taxpayers List (ATL) by having filed an income tax return. Non-filers pay significantly higher withholding tax rates across banking transactions, property purchases, vehicle registration, and investment income.
When is the income tax filing deadline in Pakistan?
The deadline for individual income tax returns is September 30 each year (for the tax year ending June 30). Missed the deadline? You can still file as a Late Filer by paying an ATL surcharge of Rs. 1,000.
What is the minimum income to pay tax in Pakistan?
For FY 2025-26, the income tax threshold is Rs. 600,000 per year for both salaried and non-salaried individuals. Income below this is exempt. However, even with zero tax liability, filing is beneficial — it places you on the ATL and reduces withholding rates.
